Hibrayer
29 days of Arabic type experiments · 2023

Every February, the Hibrayer challenge gives Arabic typographers a chance to push their creative boundaries.
This is my 2023 round: twenty-nine days to experiment and develop new Arabic typography. The story below follows the four steps I use on every brand, applied here to my own practice.
A month to explore.
The challenge presents Arabic typographers with an opportunity to explore new possibilities in design. With 29 days to experiment and develop, designers are encouraged to create unique and distinctive Arabic typography in a variety of styles.
Fresh typography every day.
My aim for the month was to produce fresh typography every day, in a variety of styles.
A rewarding experience.
I thoroughly enjoyed this challenge, and strived to produce fresh typography every day. It was rewarding to see the results of that effort build up across the month, and I look forward to taking part in Hibrayer again next year.
The month, piece by piece.
The pieces in the order they appear on Behance, followed by all of them together.
